Jason Mabasso best known as Jay Mbulazi, Is a South African rap artist, song writer, mastering engineer, graphic designer and a web designer born and raised in Gauteng, representing the east rand. Jay Mbulazi’s main genre is Hip-Hop/Rap, he also has music of different genre such as R&B/Soul, Afropop and Kwaito.
Jay Mbulazi started rapping at the age of 10, started writing his own lyrics and recorded every written song using a cellphone. and released his debut [EP] titled “The Up Coming Artist” on the year 2018, which got him booked frequently to perform live.
Jay Mbulazi made it as a global artist at the age of 16 and kept releasing numerous singles, remixes and freestyles to gain more recognition. The likes of “Whatever I Want” went viral and “After Dark” was nominated as “The Next Big Music Hit” by Djooky Awards. He was also nominated by City Award for “The Best Newcomer of The Year” awards and gained a total of 15K streams on Spotify on the year 2021. Jay Mbulazi dropped some bars on rap battles such as “Fire In The Water” hosted by “Media Music Alert” and was voted to win by thousands of live audiences.
